Biography

Karin Jolly was born in Torquay in 1965.
Karin studied at Barnet College, Middlesex University, where she won the Alan Turner Prize
and was Student of the Year.

She also studied at the Hampstead School of Art and the Art Academy South East London,
where she won the Mixed Media Prize.

She writes:
My early influences of figurative work came from sitting and spending time with the artist
Robert Lenkiewiz and the painter Inge Clayton.

At present I am working with the sculptor Michael Speller.

My work has become more contemporary over the years and has developed from the human
form towards the human condition. Some of my work was shown at the recent exhibition
"10 Years of the Art Academy", 55 Southwark Street, London SE1.

It was also shown at "Art in Action 2010"
